About Ms. Schneider
Welcome to Second Grade!! A new year brings an opportunity to develop new friendships and learn many new things and I am very excited to become a part of your child's learning this year.
Over the past seventeen years I have had the privilege of teaching children in grades first through sixth, with thirteen of those right here at Esperanza. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education at Arizona State University and hold endorsements in Early Childhood Education, Structured English Immersion, and I just completed my Gifted Education Provisional.
In the classroom, it is important for me to meet the needs of all my students and provide every opportunity for their success. I believe in building a strong classroom community and value a positive atmosphere along with cooperation and collaboration. Great things can happen when every one works together!
I'm a third generation Arizonan with strong family roots in education. My grandparents, who were also teachers, inspired me to love and value teaching. I have two very energetic and adventurous grown daughters who are both graduates from ASU and are now living in Seattle. My youngest daughter is a teacher too. :)
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family, including my lovable cat Bella. I also enjoy trying new restaurants and exploring new places.
If you have any questions, you may email me at cheryl.schneider@dvusd.org or if you choose to call, you may reach me during the day @ 623-445-3744.
I'm looking forward to an exciting and rewarding new year and getting to know your child.
